Homme Home of Wittenberg: Facing Urgent Financial Challenges

Homme Home of Wittenberg, located at 604 S. Webb Street, has been a vital resource, providing housing and daily support services to senior adults. The campus has seen numerous additions over the years, allowing it to expand its capacity and serve more seniors in need of housing and 24/7 support.
However, Homme Home of Wittenberg is currently facing a significant challenge. For the past year, the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) has prohibited Homme Home of Wittenberg from admitting new residents. This moratorium stems from the Department’s requirement for upgrades to smoke detection equipment in non-residential areas of the building and changes to the “life safety plan.
When the DHS order was implemented, Homme had 57 residents. Due to natural attrition, the number has now fallen to just over 30. This significant decrease in residents has severely impacted Homme Home for the Aging’s ability to meet its financial obligations.
Immediate Need for Support:
The Homme Foundation has already provided $200,000 for the necessary physical
plant upgrades, depleting its reserves. Immediate financial assistance is urgently
needed to cover daily operations as Homme Home of Wittenberg works to resume
admitting new residents. Your donation to the Homme Foundation at this critical time will
help ensure the legacy of care continues in Wittenberg.
